I would like to note that on any given day any "great" guitar player may play a song that touches your soul... and on a different day they may suck donkey balls.
I saw Alvin Lee on his "Ten Years Later" tour and he was at the top of his game... blew the roof off the Long beach arena. Saw him the next tour and he was obviously stoned and just OK.
Also if you hang with musicians enough you will bump into people who are very gifted... perhaps more talented than many famous musicians... but just didn't get the breaks.
