fwiw, Verizon does the same.
Also, Verizon usually is slower to introduce phones. ..they do lots of device testing and tweaking before launching on their network. So, yeah, Ip5 under verizon will likely be a while.
In the past, Sprint would always offer a new device months before Verizon. ...but Verizon's would then launch, having a few tweaks, which make the phone better. ---If Apple's iPhone where a mainstream phone (non-exclusive to att) that whole Apple 'antenna-gate' thing would not likely have happened under Verizon.
