My uncle has a silver 71 911T Targa that he bought new in CA. Our family is trying to get him to sell it (he's a hardhead, but that's another story), but I am unsure as to how much to ask. It has 100,000 mi on it and is rust free, hasn't been driven since '79. The seats are in great shape, it needs new carpeting, the gas gauge sender doesn't work, the heater boxes are rusted shut, new brake calipers all around, along with new SSI's, fuchs, will need new tires unless you like driving on vintage 70's pirellis. The tranny might be due for a rebuild pretty soon along with a clutch, 1st and second grind if you shift the speed at which I shift my 915 (which is pretty slow). The paint is so-so, it was repainted in the late 70's with lacquer or enamel(not quite sure), the paint is pretty nice except for right around the license plate where it is bubbling from the heat of the muffler, and a small dent I put in the front valence while towing it. It runs decent, could use a tune-up. So what do think?
