So, I've looked through some of the vacuum threads here, and I think I've decided to buy a Miele canister vacuum. I believe that it's a well made vacuum, quiet, etc.... The wife (and I admit, myself some) is having a hard time getting over the $850 price tag. We've got hard flooring except for a few rugs. Because of the rugs, I think we need the model with the electric wand/brush. If it wasn't for that, we could get the $500 model.

So, do you have a Miele, and if so what model?

Would you buy one again?

Have you had any problems with yours?

Do you have any complaints?

Does it have any inadequacies?

Our last vacuum was a Dyson DC07 Animal. It worked great (still does), but too much of it is plastic. I think it's 5-7 years old, we've replaced some parts that broke, and have several more parts that have broken that we haven't replaced. I think the replacement parts cost about $200.

Because of our hard floors, we end up using the dyson as a canister vac which is a huge pain. That's why we are going with a canister this time.
