I bet they'd know what lasts and what doesn't.

My parents bought an expensive electrolux years ago (in the 70s). It lasted for years and was a great vacuum.

We loved our Dyson, it worked really well, it was just made of plastic so a lot of it has broken (teenage son and a crappy maid that didnt last long).
