What about tyres? Why are they at least 50 % more than in the US. The dollar is at parity. They are not made in the US and shipped here. As a major expense on cars used regularly on the track it would be great to get tyres at US prices. I know you can but tires in the US and import them but depending on your tyre size your lucky to save much (shipping cost around $700).
