We've replaced a couple of the toilets in the house over the years. What I've determined is that you want a large outlet, and you want an outlet that has glazing (makes it smooth). Also, to keep things relatively clean, get a toilet with a large water surface area. When you go to HD, they have that spec for most of the toilets. We've had some $100 and 150 toilets, and now our toilets are closer to $300. The $300 toilets so far seem universally better than the cheap ones.
