Had a '77 Targa bought with high miles on it at 4 years old. My wife ran it out to about 180K in 15 years with one motor rebuild. I think she did every day in the suburban environment for about 8K a year. Total maintenance for the 15 years was about 20K including the motor.
Depreciation (sold in '96) was about 8K.
It is cheaper to drive other makes.
