Plus the chrome lined barrel is more than you'd get on a plain Jane SA. For function folks recommend changing the op rod and trigger group, but you were going to do that anyway (like you did), so why not start with the forged receiver for less?

well what can i say? why? buy one and then have to change stuff to make it right? when if ya spend the extra bucks..........it werks right out of the box.
i dont have TIME! time is the most PRECIOUS COMMODITY i have. waste my time and i am PISSED! BIG TIME!
yesterday, at our BLAST -O-FESTIVUS my buddies FN would not shoot. he is a lazy cheap azz. he believed(past tense) that you can shoot gas guns clean. well guess what? YA CANT! everything has a finite life before it says "GO TO HELL I WILL NOT GO BANG BECAUSE YOU ARE A LAZY CHEAP AZZ AND YOU WONT CLEAN ME!" well yesterday he brags to me in front of his (2) sons that he has NEVER CLEANED his romanian ak-47 since he bought it years ago. and GUESS DAMN WHAT????
the damn thing goes "CLICK!" not bang! and i about fell off my tailgate laughing as we went roundy roundy 10 minutes before about the FN! LMFAO!
so much for that STOOPID THOUGHT PROCESS!
anyway i had more laughs after warning the (3) of them about my 45/70 shoulder MANGLER 18" barrel 1895 GS in 45/70. handed them each a real live indian round. 45/70/405 pushing 2000fps. dad after shooting it 1st yelled "CHEESE AND RICE!" , #2 son then shot it and yelled "CHEESE AND RICE!" and then smartazz whippersnapper youngest son #3 thought he was really cool and knew everything...............and let that puppy go and NAILED THE LIVING HELL OUT OF HIS SHOULDER "PURPLE" with recoil. once again damn near fell off my tailgate LMFAO!
needless to say none of them had EVER been ABUSED by a spoon of that MAGNITUDE like that before! LMFAO! man that was precious!
next up was a carbon copy minus the full auto, of my dads wwii 5 yr stint in new guinea, biak, luzon M-1 carbine winchester mfg'd in 1944 that i have gone compeletely through as well as phil arrington waving his magic wand over.
we set up targets at 100yds deadnutz with the leupold lazer(laser) range finder, set the m-1's sights on 100yds and proceeded to BLOW THE HELL OUT OF THEM!
man that was cool. 30rd mag dumps as fast as ya can! and then a reload. and then another. and then another with various good ammo/hunting ammo, crap old surplus ammo. not a single whimper from it. man i was happy about that. so damn happy i came home and lovingly took it apart, q-tipped it clean, swabbed the bore spotless. man i love that spoon for a kick around stoopid lightweight i dont give a damn if i see a deer spoon, and if i do...............it will drop him 200yds away. it already has (2) knotches on the stock from (2) dead deer that thought they were smarter than me. and one of those deer was my buddies dead to rights when on another trip his ar-15 went "click" hahahaha that damn deer nailed by my m-1 carbine is on his wall at his house. and i NEVER LET HIM FERGIT IT EITHER! double LMFAO at that one.
then we proceeded on with the "loaded" M1-A stainless barrel, black evil synthetic stock with super duper match goodies supplied by dad. spent alot of damn time with this one working on it and it was DEAD NUTZ at 100yds with just 8 clicks up from zero with 150gr magtech bullets. not a whimper and we dumped some 20-25 rd mags so fast the barrel was boiling! i mean damn HOT! wiped all the excess grease off after every mag dump and shes a shooter.
shot my buddies lake havasu carbon fiber ar-15 with an eo-tech scope on it again and he finally got the bugs out of it and i really did like the eo-tech scope(red circle). that was fun. its a cute "girls" spoon in my book.
his other ar-15 he finally also got the bugs out of(bushmaster) and it shot fine. this is the one he reloaded some hunting ammo one deer season, sprayed wd-40 on the primed cases, and the damn spoon went "CLICK" on him on another deer hunt because primers deactivated by wd-40! i dont let him fergit that one either!
LMFAO!
and we shot a smattering of his pistols and he has his work cut out for him cleaning them.
so btwn last night and this early am , the 45/70 shoulder mangler and the m-1 carbine have been lovingly cleaned within an inch of their lives and placed back in their happy homes.
the M1-A i will wait til next weekend with RICK LEE so i can shoot some FED 168gr BTHP's and see how they group and then clean it. maybe if i am bored i'll run a swab down the bore. and then that will lead to the q-tips, and then that will lead to tearing it apart...........................and it all goes down hill from there.
i think i'll just stick with my regime and clean the damn thing despite my son being lazy also and leaving it for dad............which is PAR!
