Well - before I came across the transmission someone opened it up and swapped out the 5th gear I think.
I noticed that the RPMs at 80mph in 5th were higher than a stock 944 turbo transmission.
I think this helps on a track where the long straight isn't high enough to hit top speed. A shorter fifth gives more torque instead.
