Crappy Dentist Visit Redux

Well, this is the first time I have posted about it but it's the second visit I have had to this dentist and had this hygienist. I don't have trouble in the dentist chair but with this woman she provides me with pain I have never felt before.

It was horrible. Now I think I have decent teeth and have had very few cavities. I didn't have my first until I was in my mid-30s which was pretty recent, I have 2.

I also have braces right now so I know that makes things more difficult. Prior to going in for a cleaning I stop at my Ortho and they remove all the wires and what not so the hygienist can get in there.

Now, prior to these last two times I was seeing a young woman hygienist across the street and she was incredibly gentle, I could fall asleep in the chair with her cleaning my teeth. I left because I had trouble getting appointments - I think I will probably just try to go back.

This most recent experience - both of them - the hygienist used this sonic water tool on me and I f'ing HATE that thing. It's like constantly being stabbed in the gums and it makes this high pitched whine that I'm sure any dogs within a 10 mile radius can here. I HATE THAT THING and after today do not think I will allow it near my mouth again. Hopefully these braces will be off soon and I'm sure that will make things better as well.

Again, I've always been comfortable in the dentist's chair - always had really good experiences and I try to take good care of my teeth. These last two cleanings have been nightmares however...

Anyone know what that damned sonic tool is? I asked her about it the first time I Saw it and she looked at me like I had two heads for not having seen one before. She also was constantly trying to sell me on an electric toothbrush.

She won't be getting her hands in my mouth again.
