They just enhanced the stereotypical view that most of the world has about Mexico...
See them sleeping under a tree with a big sombrero on their head... SO WHAT
And about the food comment, maybe Hammond really does not like Mexican food... SO WHAT
And a lot of stolen cars DO end up in Bulgaria and other central European countries... SO WHAT.
