I think I've found one in the US, but I haven't emailed the gentleman for a while (since the WTC). I'm getting ready for my big move to Townsville at the moment, so a lot of car things are on hold. It seems they go for about $160 USD without being rebuilt. Kind of expensive on our dollars eh?
Apparently you are well informed on the distributor from a later car being suitable for the older engines, but they require machining to the shaft to reduce the lower portion's diameter.
Good luck, let me know how you go.
