Prostrate-Uh Oh!
Went for my annual physical yesterday. Like every year the MD does the digital thing. This time he says he feels a hard lump on the left side of it and so on Tuesday, I'm off to the Urologist for a probable biopsy. May be benign, the PSAT was unchanged from last five years. One thing I will say about this MD, its uncomfortable compared to my previous MD of a few years back. It should be uncomfortable, you want him to "check", not go through the motions, so to speak.
In looking around, I found that 80% of men who reach age 80 get prostate cancer.
BTW, I had a colonoscopy a few weeks back and it was clean. The one I had 5 years ago, the MD found a few polyps of the type that can (and apparently do) turn cancerous. I'm good on that for another 5 years.
I'm writing to my "brothers" to say "get er done".
End of Public Service Announcement.
