I hate to admit it, but I don't know what "apropo" means, or how to use it. I know "how apropo" is not shorthand for "how appropriate." It's like a secret-society thing, where you either know the secret of "apropo" or you don't.
And I'm not sure what "apropo of nothing" means.
Somebody throw me a clue, please.
