a crown on a molar popped off (on Friday of course)

My dentist will see me very late on Tuesday to put it back.

BUT, Tuesday is Mardi Gras! And I have some drunken revelry scheduled, starting at 6:30 - said revelry also includes a lot of great food...

SO I want to get a handle on whether he is likely to use anything that will interfere with my sense of taste ("numbing"; local aenaesthesia) OR will interact with alcohol fueled fun and trying to drive home much later ....

crown is Gold; and the tooth doesn't hurt

Trying to assess the probability that he will just do a quick cleaning, antiseptic and then reglue it as vs. something more major.

I find a lot of 'stuff' posted on the Internet of course - but it is mostly about which wax to buy for a temporary repair

Nor will his receptionist be of much help...
