Crocs, while popular, suck more than somewhat. They are okay if you need something you can toss in the autoclave, and you have the perfect foot for them, otherwise, not so much. There is all of about twenty five cents worth fo materials in a pair of crocs, injection molded crap really.

You want a lace up, crepe sole shoe with good support. If they don't need to be too dressy, as you are behind a counter all day, you could go with black sneaker like referees wear. I like Superfeet supports, sold at most running shoe stores, for OTC support, if needed. Do not wear the same shoes to work every day, get second pair(at least) and alternate.

You want a rubber mat on the floor where you stand and count pills, stetch out your calf muscles before, after, and during your shift. If you are working full time, your shoes will get pretty beat in a year.
