My understanding is just the opposite of what is stated above...According to what I have read, if you have a 964 or an OBD I 993, then you
can remove the emissions junk and the SAI system. If you have a late model (1996-98) 993 with OBD II, then you're screwed...Remove any of that stuff and you'll have a permanent CEL lit up on your gauges...Go to Rennlist.com and search on OBD I versus OBD II. You'll find a lot of info there.
