I did that on my 1998 Mercury Mountaineer when I decided to change the plugs at 100K the plug on drivers side nearest the firewall....
I have forgotten which cylinder # that is... but after easily changing 7 plugs.. the last one came aprt just like the pic..
Glad I have access to lifts and a shop..
used an easy-out.. and there was much joy..
