I just want to brag on my 15 year old son...
He did summer league a couple of years, but has been swimming year round now for four years. In that time, he has gone from pretty good to being a state champ several times over and nationally ranked. As a 15 year old, he's ranked number 3 in the 500 free, number 4 in the 1000 free and number 6 in the 1650 free in the nation (each age has their own rankings).
He also just broke two South Carolina state Short Course records (the 500 and 1000 free) that date back 30 years and one record (1650 free) that dates back 17 years last weekend at the Sr Sectional swim meet in Raleigh. He had the times for the Coaches meet in FL this month as well. That's a big meet with lots of swim coaches looking. Next up is Zone Camp in Louisville, KY in May and then Jr Nationals in CA next August. Long Course season starts soon, so he'll be busy.
Where it all ends up I don't know, but we sure are proud of him for what he's done to date.
