If you don't get at least a "no" then you paid too much or your asking price was too low...
Always negotiate..
My wife got annoyed that I negotiated with some local guys in Cabo Sanlucas for some crafts.. In my head they could've said no so it was a win-win, they sold me some items and I got a better deal!
