That's been in the news here for quite a while. It made headlines in the local paper when he found it but would not show his face or, of course, say where the land was. I think it weighed in at seven lbs ! and just sold at auction in Sac for $400K. He said he found it by using ground penetrating radar ? The land is a 40 ac parcel somewhere around here and there's plenty of gold yet to be found. The entire town of Grass Valley is built on flooded gold mines and 'they say' that there's more gold left there than was ever taken out.

Shortly after the nugget was found it was claimed by some to be a hoax so he could sell the land but guess not after all. Story went on to say he had the area surveyed by some geology types and they allegedly said there's a huge amount left in the dirt there. Who knows...
