Surprisingly, almost as fast as the American B-52 (8 jet engines) at cruise. TU is smaller, though.
It is the fastest propeller driven plane ever to fly. The only swept wing turboprop ever also.
It could stay aloft longer than the B-52, the turboprops with contrarotating props was a lot more fuel efficient than a jet.
The noise (howl) from the props is just incredible.
More: the airframe is closely derivative of the American WWII B-29 bomber. Fuselage is VERY similar to the B-29. USSR captured 3 B-29's and then reverse-engineered and built their own.
