I agree that if track speed & performance are your priorities, don't add bigger & heavier bumpers, obviously. I have those bigger American bumpers, though, and am glad I have them:
1) I think they do look better on my car
2) I "love tapped" the rear end into a wall while backing out last week (almost had a stroke), but upon further inspection discovered zero noticeable damage to the car - thanks to the bumpers.
