It does not. Only on the release and never once when the car was cold. It almost feels like the sound is being caused by friction...you can almost "feel" the sound. This is the original clutch as someone else posted after you a question about mileage. Strange though, I had it our for an hour today and did not hear the sound. I am just concerned that every sound I hear out of the ordinary is that damn IMS issue. Reading about that makes you kind of paranoid of every noise you hear.
