I've had a couple of issues with my Samsung BD player -- a lot of it has to do with the fact that the BD disks have so much more content on them than a DVD does. And they are constantly adding more functions, so the BD player manufacturers can't keep up with the firmware updates.

In my case, there was an issue with playing the Matrix -- apparently there was no way of turning off the closed captioning, and the movie would start with CC on. I figured out that you had to turn the CC option on (even though it was on), and then turn it off.

Also - my Ironman BD still won't load, despite having up to date firmware.

It is going to take at least a year or two for all this to sort out before it all works better, IMHO.
