I've been out of work for a while now (best and worst time of my life) and I'm thinking of switching career paths.

Are there any mortgage brokers / agents out there that could offer some advice in this field - preferably in Southern Ontario. I know things are slightly different in the US, but I'd still like to hear from our friends south of the boarder as well for a little perspective.

I've searched on line and have a general understanding of the course requirements / testing to become an agent, then broker, but any info is appreciated.

Are you working for a bank? An independent broker? Pros / cons of either? Job security (like there is any now a days)? Salary expectations ( for a beginner just starting as well as a seasoned vet) Commissions? Job fulfillment - are you happy doing this (I know it's subjective)
