Greetings Pelicans. It's been a long time since I posted on this board but I still have my SC and still enjoy it (on the 2% of days when it's not snowing or raining)!

Question for you all: should I buy a 2008 BMW 535xi?

There are a lot of these cars on the market for around $30k with <30k miles. I guess they're all coming off lease, hitting the dealers' lots - and then sitting there.

I'm moving to Chicago and need AWD for commuting. I'm looking at the 535xi because it looks like a good value given the inventory glut and because gas mileage isn't great. But these were $55-$60k new just 3 years ago.

Mainly I'm attracted to the 300hp twin turbo motor...

If you're an owner of this car tell me what you think - would you buy/lease it again if you knew what you know now? Was it reliable? What should I look out for in the used market? I've read about a chronic fuel pump issue. Does the iDrive really suck that bad?
