FYI, in no way do you need awd for Chicago. A set of winter tires on a rwd car and you will be all set. Save the money and potential future expense. I just did the winter in my recently purchased 02 530i on summer tires as I could not find a reasonable deal on snow tires. It makes things slightly easier on the 2 days we get real snow, the rest of the time it is just fluff.
