I just made a deal to trade in my 1984 Targa for a 1999-
996 with 59k miles. I thought I knew enough to make an informed decision. I was wrong, after discovering "996 engine failures" it seems to be an epidemic.
I am now sitting here with a rapid heartbeat wondering if I should beg for my $500 deposit back, or maybe even eat it, opposed to get into this apparently inevitable nightmare of 996 engine failure.
All thoughts appreciated.
