I have known Kurt for several years. He showed me the wheels in question yesterday. The finish is very poor, certainly not what you would expect from a professional shop. It was obviously done with a rattle can. A two part epoxy paint would not come off this easy.
Also the prep work done was poor. Small gouges in the surface under the paint make me believe there was no primer coat used at all.
The anodizing looks good. No problems there.
As for sending them back. Honestly after waiting for almost two months then getting these results and to top it off the reaction from the shop when he called there is no way I would send them back. If it was local I would say sure give it a chance but not out of state.
