Brad, my 2002 does require a code but it is listed in its manual. How I avoid resetting it every time I disconnect the battery is by using a small codes keeper device sold at most auto stores. Its a simple 9 volt battery attached to a adapter that plugs into your cigarette lighter, it works well. PS nice ride, enjoy it!
