Had the halogen puck lights with transformers, hated them because of the intense heat (several had burned fingerprints on them) and transformers were ugly.
Changed over to the fluorescent puck lights (Home Depot brand IIRC), they're great and very inexpensive compared to LED (which were hard to find). Low heat, lots of light. I think they were about $5 each, and very simple to install.
