My apologies for the long winded reply, but felt the need to do so…. I met my wife nearly 19 years ago, and the day I met her, I was wearing a t-shirt with a 73 RS picture on it. One night, during study hour, I wrote on the back of a picture of a 1994 3.6 Turbo that I would buy a 911 before I was 30 years old. We got married and a few years before my 30th birthday, the opportunity came up to buy a 80 SC, but I decided not to get it (though I had her full approval to do so). Few years later, right before my 30th birthday, I was about to purchase a ’94 964, but instead opted to get the BMW M Coupe that belonged to her dad who had recently passed away. Fast forwards two years, our twin boys were born, so I naturally needed a “practical family car”, so I got a ’99 996 (without having sold the M Coupe…). Still with a 911, I got other toys (boat and motorcycle) and she never complained at all. When I sold the 996, got the Cayenne and gave it to her and I took her 8 year old truck. She has known exactly how much I paid for everything and not once has she ever questioned me on anything. Just the other day she asked me “so when you getting a 911 again? You must be hating driving that old truck for so long now”. Think I would trade her for anyone?!
