I love how every time something bad happens, the media feels the need to recap everything else that's happened to the boat in the last few years. "The boat has been dogged with problems," they say. (sigh) If the boat of the article hasn't been "dogged with problems," then they'll list problems related to the port, the service, or the entire organization. "The Department of Defense has suffered a spate of recent incidents," they'll say.
The other great part about these is that they often close with some totally useless line about submarines. "The nuclear reactor on board the HMS umpty-fratz allows them to remain at sea undetected for months on end." What does that have to do with the shooting?
