It's really quite simple
÷ or / means exactly the same , devide the first number, by the second one.
multiplying or devision has the same priority
anything between ( ) goes first
When no other priorities remain, go left to right
so 48/2*(9+3) = 48/2*12
and 48/2*12 = 24*12 = 288
