Apparently they sold the cars, outside of the ebay auction.

Definitely an interesting situation!

Ferrari Daytona coupes are not $1 million cars. They made over 1300 Daytona coupes, which is a fairly large number by Ferrari collector standards. They generally go for $300-$400K now.

Of course, all of those cars are going to need some serious work, including probably complete engine rebuilds. Still, there should be a lot of parts that can be reused with just cleaning, so when finished they will have a level of originality you don't see much anymore these days.
