16/(2 (8 - 3 (4 - 2))+ 1=288-283=5



the answer IS 5



and the answer to the OP's equation IS 288

Do you disagree?
I don't see a difference between the two problems. One yields 288 and the other yields 17. The equation that you solved has an extra set of parentheses.
