Thanks - the area is pretty well shaded and has a roof over it and then a deck to keep out rain.

The existing door is about 80" high and 70" long.

That short interior wall is only about 28" wide, so I don't see any way to use an in-swing door there(?)

An outswing French door could work I guess, but there is a step right outside, so I'd have to deal with that to meet code.

If anybody has other ideas, please let me know.

I'm thinking that a replacement sliding glass door is the way to go.
