I was faced with a similar dilemma but of far lesser consequence. I had zero dollars in 1974, zero and had to come up with rent and tuition. So I sold some stuff...including.... don't hate me Gogar.....the Fender Precision bass I played in high school.
I still cringe with pain thinking of that one, but I was B-R-O-K-E.
