I REALLY wanted a Yaris since I drive 1,000 miles every two weeks. I ended up with a 2005 mazda 6 and I am consistently getting 29 mpg. It's not the Yaris's class leading 39, but it sure doesn't suck.
I am finding that gas mileage is becoming a null point. I spent on average $350-400 a month on fuel alone. The only REAL way of lowering your fuel use is by simply not driving the car. I am now extremely careful which route I take and what else I'll accomplish on that trip. So instead of mpg I am more focused on how many days I can go on a single tank of gas. That's the real challenge.
