ooo..tough one. If it were a 380 or 450SL you would have a slight advantage...

An excellent example is around 8-10k for a guy looking for one.
A 20 footer or one with high mileage is worth much less.
Does the A/C work? Power steering rack leak and make noise? Wood in the console cracked?

Enjoy the car and think about keeping it...or..pimp it out with 20" rims and it will probably sell to a "playa" in Atlanta.

My mom has an 84 380SL that is rarely driven. It hasn't seen the road more than 800 miles in the last year. The thing had a full resto about six years ago including a bare metal re-paint, new interior, new top, new a/c, new power steering rack, etc., etc., etc. Totally CHERRY! It is only valued at around 10-12k..the resto cost more than that...my dad just shakes his head...
