I had a '65 with HiPo 289, and a very short rear end. It ripped, I mean it topped out at 100 mph (not kidding) but it accelerated veeeery nicely. Fun to drive, even if the ''drifting'' thing wasn't around yet. I like the 65-66's a lot and would like another one someday.

I also like the Bullitt and Boss era Mustangs.

A bit of a rough patch in the 1970s.

In the 80s, the SVO was one of my favorite cars. I almost got one, was seduced by the Sierra Cosworth, or rather the US version Merkur. Wish I'd got the SVO.

The Mustang just-passed is a great looking car, especially the Bullitt. The current version has droopy eyes but it is growing on me.

I have a list of about 20 cars I'd consider having - not a list of expensive dream cars, I mean cars you can buy, drive daily, park in the rain downtown, but enjoy a lot - basically, the shopping list for my next car.

Another 65 Mustang, a coupe with blown 289 and Shelby bodywork but a quieter paint job, is on the list.

Along with stuff like BMW 3.0 CS, Jag series 1 XKE, Ferrari 400i, BMW E28 M5, Porsche 928S4 or later, Alfa GT, Mercedes 190SL Pagoda, Citroën SM, etc. It's not a bad list for the Mustang to be on, and there's hardly any other domestic on the list.
