Is The 911SC a ticking time bomb?

Looking for a nice vintage 911, everybody is telling me to stay away from the SCs due to CIS part availability and ethanol. Is this one of the reasons why cars are less expensive than 3.2s (i realize they are faster and the newer P cars get, the more improvements there are...)

Want a daily driver that is reliable and I can tinker with and get the air cooled expreience. Don't want to have to change out CIS or go to carbs because the car will be unable to function on e10 or e15 gas....

I've read the articles, seen the discussions.....very confused as to how big an issue this is or will be.

Thanks,

John
