Engine is a Porscher Boxer horizantally oppiosed 4 cylinder with dual carbs. A bug type 1 engine is a drop in replacement (pretty much) so its possible you have one in there....
Speedo is mechanical, tach is electronic. Engine is a derivitive of the 356 speedster motor... an evolved big brother.
