The last hand gun I used was a Browning High power in the Army (20 years ago). There was a pistol club in the battalion I served with. I helped start the club with the Doctor who was serving as the MO for the battalion. If you can believe that.
We used to shoot every Tuesday evening but I often got to the range two or three times a week or on weekends.
OK, now the absolute truth.
When I was at my best I could shoot a 5 round group that was 4 inches across at 25 meters.
No custom work or sites. Just a standard browning High power with mil spec ammo.
Mind you I was taught to shoot by a person who did a bit more than the standard infantry soldier.

I do understand why people shoot at closer ranges but IMO you need to get back a bit so you can see were your rounds are falling.
