With my Father's passing, we're looking into one stop shopping for conversion of slides to digital, old movie formats (film, Hi-8, etc) to DVD etc. Any privacy concerns or do they paste ads onto your videos? Quality of the work? Guarantees that data not lost/corrupted? What other questions/concerns would you have for this kind of service? I can write pics to Au DVD's, that's not the issue. We simply have too much volume and/or lack of currently functioning devices to make all the conversions. And if this can function as a repository/archive for the whole family, it would be easiest to centralize with access rather than depend on folks wandering around with CD's or thumb drives....
