Got to say that Labs are pretty close to being the" you can't keep me in this fence".

Well, after 4 labs, our kennel is dig proof... the fence is 6 foot high and it sits on a concrete foundation that the concrete wall is 2 foot down the dirt grade with a 6" footing under the wall.

Yes, they dig holes but after a foot down they give up, I make it easy for them to dig with about 3-4 inches of cedar shaving on top. Sometimes I let them dig multiple holes for them to get the idea that escaping won't happen. I also have about 10-12 bones in the kennel.

I have also had them pull the fencing and once my current lab did get out but some baling wire fixed that problem. She now happily goes into the kennel for her bone chewing or sleeping time of day.
