That doesn't always work. The curtains made of fabric don't do much to quiet the noise being generated on the other side.
When I fly to Europe, I always go Business Class as a minimum. Last trip to London, we were in Business Class. Back in the cheap seats, there was a woman with a brat in the first row of Economy. That kid screamed for 5 out of the 7 hours of the flight. Ear plugs and noise cancelling headphones helped a bit. But, that kid kept me awake the entire flight. I had intended on sleeping through most of it.
I may be a grumpy, old fart, but I believe that I am entitled to my quiet enjoyment of a flight. I would pay more for a child-free experience.
