I got mine from
8 Yard Traditional Tartan Kilts by Scotweb Kilts & Tartan Store in my family tartan and it was around $400. More than $200 but a lot less than $1000. You can spend a bunch on other things to go along with the kilt of course, but even so, I wouldn't think it would add up to that much more unless you were getting a custom tailored jacket with the outfit.
